Villa Vitas, from the Northern Italian Region of Friuli
We are proud to introduce Villa Vitas wines by Roberto Vitas, a seventh generation Winemaker from Friuli. We were immediately hooked to his fantastic Merlot, and the Red Refosco, a varietal that it very particular to the region of Friuli. Are you interested in White Wines? Try their Sauvignon Blanc, we guarantee that it will make the Reds Only drinkers make an exception. It is hands down the best Sauv Blanc we have ever tasted.

Serracavallo, Wines of Northern Calabria
We selected this vineyard, after the very scary climb so high into the Serre Cavallo mountains that we could see as far as the Mediterranean Sea. Here at Serracavallo you will find Varietals that you have never heard of, only locals know them and maybe some wine experts. They are symbols of the old Rugged Southern Italian South with influences of Ancient Greek and Roman wine making and culinary traditions. Each wine is created with the profound passion of Doctor Demetrio Stancati and his wife Flaviana, who live and work on the vineyard, every day. They are true to their Organic and Biological Farming processes, everything is cultivated by hand, and each Grape Vine has a name (we thought Dr. Stancati was kidding) but there is this map of the Vineyard with their names. That kind of Quality Control is just unheard of, and a little obsessive, but the product they put out is as unique and consistent as the husband and wife team behind the brand.

Tenuta Eleano, Basilicata, Aglianico del Vulture
How do we explain this wine? Once upon a time the Oldest Italian Grape, the Aglianico, met a young Alfredo Cordisco, his daughter and some of their relatives and they magically created a line of absolutely stunning wines from high in the Vulture in the virtually untouched and serene mountains and rolling hills of Basilicata in Italy's Southern Appenini. Eleano's wines come in different versions of the Aglianico each prepared and blended using a different method in order to accommodate anyone's palate and pairing combinations. They also have the ancient Passito from their Moscato grapes, an old Roman tradition. One sip brings you back to ancient history.

Filadoro, of Taurasi, The Official Wine of Naples
We all should go back to our roots to find something that links directly to our family history and DNA. Wines made from Aglianico grapes in the DOC Taurasi Territory have been the wine of the people of Naples for millenia. There are many vineyards that filter this dense complex wine to the point where it is useless to even try, but Filadoro got it right. Their Taurasi and other Aglianico wines are Unfiltered, Raw, Earthy, but smooth at the same time, with an elegance, flavor and fragrance that we have yet to encounter, and we at Borea, who hail from this region of Italy, have been drinking these wines for a very long time, and we can safely say, this one is a keeper. In addition to their bold red Taurasi and Aglianico, are the famous Greco di Tufo and Fiano whites. Again, Filadoro hits the spot with a beautiful floral bouquet and aroma and complexity that is rarely found in white wine. I would recommend this with Pork or Chicken before throwing it into the fish category. Cheese combination? How about chocolate? We can't wait for Giancarlo to come to the US to watch his award-winning Gold and Silver Medal wines spread like wildfire throughout New York City and beyond.
